Thankful Thursday (Model of a Good Wife)

Today, I'm Thankful for poetry, words, the Bible.  They have pulled me out of the ugliest of moods, helped me through cheating boyfriends, and my own manic thoughts.  I wanted to share these words with you.

Model of a Good Wife...

She takes care of her home and runs it well.  She knows how to buy and sell and make wise investments.  She keeps herself healthy and strong and dresses attractively.  She works diligently and has skills which are marketable.  She is giving and conscientiously prepares for the future.  She contributes to her husband's good reputation.  She is strong, solid honorable, and not afraid of growing older.  She speaks wisely and kindly.  She doesn't sit around doing nothing, but carefully watches what goes around in her home.  Her children and her husband praise her.  She doesn't rely on charm and beauty, but knows that the fear of the Lord is what is most attractive.  She supports her husband and still has a fruitful life of her own which speaks loudly for itself.  (Proverbs 31)

On this Thankful Thursday, I'm reminded that no one on this earth can make me happy.  I have to make myself happy.  No one can nurture my family like I can.  No one knows what my son is feeling like I can (At least for now :-), know one can push my business like I can (that is no one will do it for free like I can :-)  So This Thankful Thursday, I'm Thankful for the beautiful Goddesses that reminded me of the beauty of my my work.  I'm Thankful for, The Isis Collections.  Designed to bring out the Goddess in you.

Thankful Thursday! (Kid Videos)

They say that you shouldn't let your kids watch to much T.V. Blah, Blah, Blah, but I know that the majority of moms out there will agree with me and say that they are thankful for the educational Kids videos out there.  I'm thankful cause at this very moment my son is putting together his puzzle games, and watching the HBO Family channel, which is allowing me to do this and get some work done!

On this Thankful Thursday,  I'm just Thankful.  Thankful for my wonderfully handsome husband and son.  Thankful for my family who's still living and able.  Thankful for the opportunity to be at home, and do what I want.  Thankful for vacations.  Thankful for the air I breath.  Thankful for Doctors.  Just plan Thankful!  I'll be even more Thankful if my son starts going to the toilet every #1 and #2 soon before September, and even more Thankful we he starts using his listening skills better.

Faith & Doubts

This post is my Thankful Thursday, and Fine Jewelry Friday rolled all into one. I'm so thankful to have been given the opportunity to attend an Oprah show taping yesterday (I'll post my experience, this weekend), and also on this Fine Jewelry Friday, thanks to Tamika Martell over at A-line Style Services, I'm so thankful to have been given the opportunity to have my jewelry pieces photographed at a Frock Shop Photo shoot!

So right now I'm running on a quarter full and this Chicago weather is not helping. I'm praying that I make it through this day cause I'll be running literally from 6am til about 11pm with a small break in the evening.

With all thats going on in my mind, and my sometime negative thoughts battling my postive ones, the saying, all that glitters isn't gold pops into my mind. Pondering all that, I've come to the hypothesis that this saying, I think, was created by a negative person, cause I feel like my life is glittering right now, and I can't wait to see, and embrace the diamonds!

Thankful Thursday (Day 3 of Potty Training Bootcamp)

Today is Day 3 of Potty Training Boot Camp.  I woke up a little tired, and not wanting to get out of the bed, partly because I was missing my husband.  He took a few days off of work, and its been good having another adult in the house do pick up a little slack around the house.  Also because he was here, and we were so tired form having 2 shows this weekend, I've totally neglected the house and have not cleaned one thing.  So today this Thankful Thursday I'm thankful that the entire house is vacuumed, floors have been swepped and mopped.  Several spots have been dusted or wiped with my favorite clorox wipes.  The stove has been cleaned, counters have been washed of all cooking grease, dishes washed, we've been fed breakfast and lunch, fb, and twitter status have been updated, all the merchandise I have so far has been added to the website, a list of future task have been created, and best of all my son DID #2 IN THE POTTY AGAIN TODAY, YEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND ALL OF THIS BEFORE NOON!  THANK YOU GOD!!!!!



This is our potty & nice board, when my son tells anyone that he has to potty and he actually goes and does it he gets a sticker.  Smiley face for #1's Apple for #2's.  Everyone else on the board gets stickers when they've been exceptionally nice!  No one so far, lol.

I think I'm a little dehydrated, and not really feeling that well.  So as a Mother, that still has a lot to do, today I'm Thankful for the simple things, Fresh air (semi-fresh), and Water!  Today I can't get enough of it, lol!

Thankful Thursday! (St. Patrick's Day)

This Thankful Thursday, I'm thankful that Spring is drawing near.  It's St. Patricks Day, and I'm taking the family out to dinner, and to see the Chicago River!  Today is also my Grandfather's Birthday, so I'm thankful that he's here to see another year!  Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These Thankful Thursday I'm Thankful that my Uncle in Oakland, CA made it through a minor surgery, and is on his way to recovery.  I'm so thankful for my family, and would like to praise God for blessing me with this wonderful group of people in my life.  Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I'm Thankful, for my ancestors.  Without them I would not have an option for anything!  I wouldn't have an option of what restaurants to go to, what schools to go to school, I wouldn't even have the option to walk down the street by myself without the possibility that something horrible may happen to me.  I'm incredible thankful for the Rosa Parks, the Medgar Evers, the Wharlest Jackson's without you this world would never have been ready for me :-). Thank You!!!!!

Good Afternoon All! 

Today I'm Thankful that I've been afforded the opportunity to do what I want, which is sit at home and decide what my family eats, how to love my husband and son the way that I want, and to grow my business.  I've realized that it is definitely a balancing act, and I welcome and am thankful for the opportunity.  Last night, I was looking over my business plan, and I came a cross a website that offered a lot of good advice for Jewelry Home businesses, and I'm so enthusiastic to get started on the things that I've learned.  Everything happens for a reason, so the only thing left to say is Thank You.

Today, as I finish up a very difficult last few days I am Thankful for my Faith.  I found this poem, that completely expresses the way that I feel right now...

FAITH
To have faith is to defy logic. It takes faith to think positively. It takes faith to believe that there is a loving God who cares deeply about our pain. To believe in life, the universe, or yourself after numerous failures is to have courage. Faith is an act of courage. It is choosing to get up in the morning and face our fears and believe that God will help us. Faith is choosing to believe that even though we may have failed one hundred times before that we can succeed the next time.
