FINE JEWELRY FRIDAY!!!!!

Are you the kind of person that plays it safe?  Well, I think I am in some ways.  Sure, every once in a while I take a chance and leap out on faith, like when I snuck out of the house to be with boyfriends, or when I went away to  college, and when I married my husband, and even when I quit my job of 4 years, and became a WAHM, but lately I've been thinking I should do it again.  I'm tired of playing it safe.

I feel that if you want big things to happen, you have to make big moves!  I absolutely feel that big moves should be researched, and be done with smarts. Soooo this is why I've decided to finally stop talking about it, and put some action to it.

I'm going to finally start the 1st store to my chain of Isis Collections Stores!  However it has to start with a real functional Business Plan!  I have the template,  (The business plan I put together Junior year of college.  Yes, I have a BFA in Fashion Design/Fine Arts) now I just need to update it, and add my current logistics, and do some real footwork!

So any POSITIVE advice or comments, locations, etc. you have will be greatly appreciated!

It's Fine Jewelry Friday!

Thank God its Fine Jewelry FRIDAY!!!! Not sure what Jewelry to wear? Well let me help you!

Coming out of the recession that made us all a bit nervous and tightening our pocketbooks... we have pared down to a simple way of looking at things. Big and bold gives us two distinct feelings when it comes to our jewelry: Extravagant and safe. These are the feelings that played out during these tough economic times and now we have a different feeling ahead of us... a sense of relief, a sense of balance and beginning.

Pearls will be the big player as we see them with different eyes than ever before. They will convey a sense of hope and simplicity with tones that will match anything in your wardrobe. If the recession keeps us as consumers from buying everything we want and making smarter choices, we will have to go with what we can get the most mileage from.

Whether you are a collector, a fashionista or a specialty shop retailer, knowing what fashion jewelry trends are current and coming is vital and then being able to duplicate the trend at a fraction of the designer or retail pieces is essential.

What’s in for Winter 2010 going into 2011?

It's Fine Jewelry Friday!

Thats to HEAVY!  No its not!

Layered necklaces haven't disappeared, but styles are more compact than we've seen in recent seasons. When you surf the Internet, you'll still see pics of celebrities wearing many necklaces, and they're often super heavy, chunky designs. Most of us in the real world will opt for a more subdued look, for practical reasons (cost, uncomfortable weight) and because we aren't providing billboard space for designers. But celebrities are usually on the cutting edge of style -- jewelry they're wearing today may be on retail racks in coming seasons, and you can get them at THE ISIS COLLECTIONS

View our store! or email us with your CUSTOM creation today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great weekend Gods & Goddesses! I'll be busy making pumpkin bracelets and skeleton Earrings for my upcoming art show at Grayslake High School!

It's Fine Jewelry Friday!

Happy Fine Jewelry Friday, Gods & Goddesses!

I’ve been a busy lady today, getting all of my girls together so we can celebrate this year’s 2010 Diva’s Ball for whom I will be selling my wonderful creations at this event and promoting the 1st every Real Wives of Chicago So Chic Shopping Extravaganza for which I will also be selling my creations there as well. I’m prepping for Halloween. My son is going to Mickey Mouse, suited with the Mickey Mouse Pumpkin Basket for all of his treats, and we’re going to see Mickey Mouse at the Rosemont Theatre. I CAN’T WAIT!

So, with all of this excitement and preparation, my thoughts always go back to my Jewelry! Jewelry trends for fall 2010 are less about “bling” and more about creative style! This seasons Treasures are filled with resin & acrylic beads, bib styled necklaces, chunky bracelets, and rings, and BIG elaborate earrings, shapes, and animals, and all kinds of artistic motifs. Below are what’s being seen on the catwalks, and what TIC has to offer. Enjoy your weekend Gods & Goddesses, I’ll be catching up on so much needed me time, so I’ll me MIA for most of the weekend. Awareness Jewelry & Colors

Brightly colored, rubbery wrist bands are an affordable fashion jewelry trend. The hope is that people will be reminded of those issues when they see the bracelets worn. This "raised awareness" of issues can lead to increased research into cures for disease and better funding of programs designed to help those in need.

Charitable causes can also benefit directly from sales of some awareness bracelets. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of certain bracelets goes directly to the corresponding charitable organizations.

Awareness Bracelet History
The first awareness wristband was created by the Lance Armstrong Foundation, which was founded in 1997 by world-renowned cyclist and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong. The purpose of the Foundation is to assist cancer survivors with life after a cancer diagnosis. The yellow silicone Livestrong® bracelet (named after the Foundation's education program and colored to match Lance Armstrong's cycling jersey) is sold by the Foundation to raise funds for its educational program, and to promote awareness of its causes generally.

The bracelet became especially popular after it was featured on an episode of Oprah in February 2005. According to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, 32 million people were wearing the yellow Livestrong® wrist band in February 2005.

Awareness Colors and Messages
The popularity of the Livestrong® bracelet led to creation of many similar bracelets promoting awareness of other societal issues. Bracelets are now available in most every color, promoting awareness of everything from adoption to worker safety.

You can even have your very own custom beaded awareness wristband manufactured here at the Isis Collections, in the color of your choice and you can even add your own Sterling Silver message.

Gemstone Jewelry, Can it bring you luck?

Women, fashion and Jewelry cannot be separated. Although there is jewelry for men too but it seems that women are the most rightful candidates for wearing them. Women Jewelry come in all types of materials- gold, silver, other metals, beads, wood and even clay and stones, coins etc. All women wear Jewelry but for different reasons.

• First and foremost reason for wearing Jewelry is that they make the wearer look beautiful.

• Some women wear them as fashion accessories to bring out the complete beauty of outfits.

• Some wear due to religious factor or traditional ritual. Most of the married Indian women wear bangles, necklaces, rings, toe rings etc. to observe cultural obligations

• Some women, especially young girls, wear them to follow the latest fashions. You can easily spot them wearing a typical bracelet or ring or some other such Jewelry just to be with trends.

• Yet others wear precious Jewelry to show off their 'well off social status' (not a very tasteful reason but yes it’s a fact!)

• There is one very cute reason too for wearing Jewelry. Women wear Jewelry received as gifts from their loved ones (husband, boyfriend, brother, father, friend, mother etc.) just out of emotional attachment to them.

• And there are some others who wear Jewelry for bringing luck to them. These are gemstone jewelry but can they bring luck with them?

Astrologers say that when a person is born, the planets and stars are in a particular position. Their position influences the life of that person by emitting some electromagnetic energy and radiations. These may be good effects, bad effects and mixed effects. There are particular stones of many colors- popularly known as gemstones- that can alter the influences of planets by making them more favorable or by diminishing their ill effects. This is done by rays emitted by the gemstones. They can do wonders regarding luck in love, money, business, etc. in the life of the wearer. However, these gemstones are prescribed based upon the position of the planetary bodies during the birth time of the person. Thus, astrological horoscopes are made for prescribing them to a person.

There are many people who don't believe in this theory. They could not understand the logic behind a small stone affecting big planetary energies. However, there is one fact- something done with faith can really bring amazing results. If you take your medicine with faith, you will definitely recover fast. If a person wears this gemstone Jewelry, s/he will be positive about the efforts put in to resolve any issue. This gives a push to take the right moves and thus the gemstones can play a positive role in bringing good fortune (not just by wearing them but by the positive efforts put in by the wearer).

One thing is clear anyway- gemstones are so beautiful that no one can be spared from their charm! Be it ruby, emerald , garnet, or the ever favorite gem of women- the diamond- they all give a charming beauty to the wearer. So, whether you believe in the astrological explanations about good effects of gemstones or not- you can always wear gemstone jewelry for its sheer beauty! And if you do believe in astrologers saying that a gemstone will bring good luck and fortune for you then first know which gemstone has been prescribed as your birth stone. Its Wedding Season!

This time of year, I've seen so many wedding parties posing for photos, and so many ladies looking for that perfect necklace set to accent their dresses or their bridesmaids dresses, and so many looking for that perfect gift. So I found this article to help you out. Hope it's helpful!

Memories can invoke very strong emotions. At a young age our memories take hold and later in life these can be sparked by sights, sounds, touch, tastes, and smells. Special occasions tend to hold the deepest memories, ones birthdays', Christmas, first date, graduation, and matrimony, to a couple's first born and then the cycle begins again in another's memories.

The memory of a wedding celebration marks a special passage of time. Ones own memories that were once exclusive to only you are now shared with another and the two become one in thought, emotion and in this way all future memories change and are never remembered again as exclusively your own. No longer is it "my" memories but "our" memories.

The yearly anniversary which now marks that sharing of time has such special meaning, over the years much thought has gone into the giving of gifts for a couple's wedding anniversary. This guide offers suggestions for gift giving for both men and women and insight into traditional and modern gifts and offers purchasing opportunities from trusted merchants that assisted in producing this guide.

Marriage Anniversary Gifts in the early years of marriage were small remembrances, or tokens, such as 1st (paper), 5th (wood), and 10th (tin). In later years of matrimony, gifts gained value (which tends to correspond with society status and professional security), including 15th (crystal), 20th (china), 25th (silver), and 50th (gold).

By the time her publication was reprinted in 1957, the growing importance of wedding anniversary celebrations in America required more guidance and the traditional gift list had been expanded to include all of the first 15 years, and multiples of five thereafter. Additionally, as 35 years had passed since the original publication modern alternatives were again added and updated to include more socially acceptable gift options.

The traditional and modern anniversary gift guides have changed very little during the past half-century where traditional gifts are deeply rooted in heritage yet modern gifts greatly assist to offset cultural differences. The giving of a gift to your partner on the memorable occasion of shared thought is so symbolic that this guide has been developed to assist making the occasion truly one worth marking the passage of time from here.

He right gift can bring a sparkle to every eye and can delight the hearts of all. Our Anniversary Guide will help you celebrate with gift ideas. The quick chart below tells you the Gemstone Anniversary Gifts for each year.

Jewelry Rules

The choice of accessories is a very personal affair, it's very important that you feel comfortable and in harmony with what you wear. But jewelry is a very special thing that require thorough consideration and good taste. Here are our expert advise on how to make the most of the jewelry:

Woman jewelry rules:
1. Remember "one-statement-at-a-time" rule. It means that you should balance your jewelry items. For example, a dramatic necklace requires modest earrings and vice versa. Similarly, if you don’t want to look like a Christmas tree, avoid wearing more than one massive and bold ring at a time. The combination of 2 or 3 discreet rings is ok within the good-taste limits. The same is for the bracelets. But then do not wear a necklace.Jewelry sets are traditional gifts. They usually include matching necklace, ear-rings, a bracelet and a ring. Do not wear them all at once. A necklace is good together with a ring, and ear-rings are a fabulous match for a bracelet. You can compliment them with a wedding ring.

2. Face shape and hair style have an influence on what to wear. For instance, massive ear-rings look out of place if you have a small face with fine features or short-cut hair. Hair worn piled up is a fabulous opportunity to wear long drop or dangly earrings.

3. Consider your age when choosing the stones and metals that can work best for you.The good options for a young girl are some strings of pearls, corals, turquoise a-la russe (i.e. set in silver or gold).  More mature ladies are free to wear all possible precious stones. As to the metals, it’s up to you what to choose taking your taste, hair and eye-color into account. But on the whole, silver jewelry is considered to be an every-day thing, not appropriate for formal and special occasions. You can combine silver and gold jewelry. But think thoroughly over the combination. For example, silver and gold chains can liven a dark dress up. Never combine a silver necklace with a gold bracelet.

Man jewelry rules:
All man jewelry should be simple in design and of excellent quality. Never reject things because they are not the latest fashion. For men, an ancient signet or a pin with a big diamond are status symbols. The excellent jeweler’s art raise all possible objections.

A signet produces a better effect on a long-fingered man’s hand than on a plump and short-fingered one. In case it’s an ancient gold signet with an official seal or a monogram you can wear it on a little finger of either hand. Choosing the left one you “soothe the pain” of a too strong hand-shake. A signet on a forefinger or a middle finger looks melodramatic and stagy.

The watches and cigar-cases can only be gold or silver, steel or platinum, enamel is also ok. The cigar-case should not be decorated with precious or semi-precious stones.

The wrist-watches match an evening suit unless they have a leather wristlet. In such situations men are supposed to wear flat gold or platinum watch on a thin gold or platinum chain.

An Ascot-tie (a wide square-ended tie worn in a knot) is decorated with a moonstone or amethyst pin or other light stone. A pin isn’t worn with usual ties. The Ascot-tie can compliment only cut-away suits (appropriate for important or very festive day-time events).

The pearly collar-studs are a must for a shirt in a cut-away suit. The cuffs are linked with gold cuff-links-chains which can be decorated with precious stones.
