Happy Real Year

This is going to probably be the realest post that I have ever done, and I admit cause I have partaken in the drinking of 5 bottles of spirits this New Years Eve, and yes I am an Entrepreneur professional, but I am also a human being and I am an artist, and so much more, and I have a couple things to get off of my chest.   I am absolutely determined to not go into the new year with BS from anyone which includes my family.  Why is it freaking New Years and instead of my Husband walking to me and giving me a new years kiss he is screaming at me to come here, and because I don't get up he just sits back down?  Whatever happened to fighting for what you love, or going after what you want?  Especially since your wife has pointed out a few things that she would like you for you to work on, and you have agreed that you need to.  Yes, I could of gotten out of my deep seating couch sectional experience and simply gotten up as was requested of me.  However, I have said time, and time again after cooking a full turkey, dressing, baked macaroni, and collard greens, ham, and sweet potatoes meal all by myself for Thanksgiving and Christmas that I wasn't doing anything but sitting on my ass for new years, and thats exactly what I was going to do.  Excuse me, MF!  I'm tired too!  Why do I have to always meet your ass half way, 3/4 of the way or all the way?  Can you do something on your own for fucking once?  Yeah, yeah, anybody that knows me is probably shaking their heads right now, and calling me all types of hypocrite, and Te, thats not how a marriage is supposed to me. Shawnte you're not supposed to put you marriage out there like that, but you know what who's there for me right now to vent to about this MF? Nobody! So this is what I'm doing to  make myself feel better about this asswhole.  Deal with it!  The mission of my business is to make women feel like they are worthy of being worshiped.  To think about themselves for change, self care!  Care for your loved ones around you; nurture them, love on them, but also don't forget to do the same for yourselves, and sometimes you just have to vent, and right now I'm doing just that.  This is my mission for my business, because this is what I'm passionate about its something that I also want for my life, for myself.  Maybe I'm wrong talking about my not knowing how to handle his liquor husband, but this is what makes me feel good at this moment, and him, and anyone else that doesn't like it can kiss my you know what!

This is a great way to start the new year, but to make it positive here's to standing up for myself, and working towards filling my empty cup! Happy New Year!!!

Pull It Together Tuesday! (More respect for ourselves!)

So if you haven't noticed from yesterdays post, I sooooooo enjoyed myself in Memphis, TN on my husband and I's anniversary vacation.  Memphis is not only fun family time at places like Beale Street and a guitar shaped swimming pool:

but as an African-American Woman I learned so much about my history at places like the Stax Studios, the National Civil Rights Museum, Graceland, Sun Studio, etc:

Going to these places put so much gratefulness, and sorrow into my heart.  These people marched, and fought for future generations to walk proud with their heads held up high and say, "I am a man!"  "I am a woman!"  "I deserve to vote!"  "Listen and love my music no matter what color I am!"  "I can sit where I please, drink water from whatever fountain I please, and sit and eat where I please!"  So many things that we take for granted now a days, cause there I so many people preoccupied with who's sleeping with who, what kind of car whoever is driving, and what the next person has.  To busy looking to videos and movies for the wrong type of education, instead of going to the books and going to schools to  get the education that our ancestors fought so hard for us to have.

I took three very important young people on this anniversary vacation with my husband and I, and I just hope to God that one day they'll understand this lesson, and I hope that you reading this can pull it together to understand the lesson as well.

Music Monday (Kid Entrepreneurs)

Good Morning Gods & Goddesses!

I had a wonderfully busy weekend with vending at the Custer's Last Stand in Evanston, and celebrating Father's Day with my hubby and family, all I want to do is sit in the bed and watch Season 5 of Charmed on DVD which is on the schedule for today, but first I need to talk to you wonderful individuals, and update my inventory, as well as a few other things.

Usually today will be filled with some song that expresses my feeling of the day, but I came across this video of kids entrepreneurs that I wanted to share with you all.  Its great, cute and very motivational.  TEACH YOUR KIDS TO BE WHATEVER THEY WANT TO BE!  Have a great week everyone!

Keep it Moving Music Monday!!!!

I'm switching things up this Music Monday.  Their was good effort to make my Mother's Day a great one, but to make things truly great, I've realized that great effort has to be made on my part.  There are very few things that my son can do without me, and my Husband is not his best at all without me, so unfortunately as bad as I want my family and friends to do things without me, its just not going to happen.  So IT'S KEEP IT MOVING MUSIC MONDAY.  Hopefully this keeps you going this week, and myself!

Thankful Thursday (Cooks Ham Savings)

It’s Thankful Thursday, and I am so incredibly thankful for Sales Associate Annette, at my Neighborhood Jewel Osco store! It is very rare that you find someone in Customer Service that has a smile on their face, and eager to help a customer.

I was fussing and complaining yesterday while doing my holiday grocery shopping because my family loves ham, and I don’t eat pork or beef, so to make them happy I decided to get one, but to my surprise, those Damn hams were over $20! I was only expecting to spend about $10 on this ham that I’m not going to eat, so I called my Grandmother, and she told me that she gets the Cooks Shank or butt Hams, which are cheaper about $12 to $17 dollars. So that’s what I got.

I get in line to pay for my groceries, and guess what Annette did? She pulled out her sales paper, with a coupon right on the front with a $9 OFF COUPON! So I got the ham that I’m not going to eat for ONLY $3.54!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God is good! Thanks Annette!

Mean while, that time has come and gone.  During my sons nap (OMG, he napped for 3 hours YES!!!!) I managed to get my address labels together to mail our Holiday cards to customers, fill some orders, and wrap my sons gifts.  Here are a few!

Here is the finished product under the tree!

and here is  my son after his nap.
So precious!  I can't wait to see his face after everything is under the tree.
